Gabbard Asks DOJ To Prosecute 2 Alleged Leakers

Authored by Zachary Stieber via The Epoch Times,

Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard has referred two alleged intelligence community leakers to the Department of Justice (DOJ) for prosecution.

In an April 23 post on the social media platform X, Gabbard announced the referrals and mentioned that a third referral is on its way. She emphasized the importance of ending the politicization of intelligence and the leaking of classified information, stating that those responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law.

Gabbard highlighted that the leaked information was used for partisan political purposes to undermine the President’s agenda and expressed her commitment to working with the Justice Department and FBI to investigate, terminate, and prosecute the individuals involved.

She mentioned that the leaked information concerned a classified assessment of the Tren de Aragua gang and its alleged connection to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, which was reported by The Washington Post. This assessment contradicted President Donald Trump’s invocation of the Alien Enemies Act in March, leading to further investigation into the leak.

Gabbard reiterated her support for the assessment that Tren De Aragua is a foreign terrorist organization acting with the support of the Maduro Regime and called for the removal of its members as alien enemies of the United States.

She emphasized that rooting out the politicization of intelligence was a key campaign promise of President Trump and a priority for American citizens.

The article also pointed out the legal consequences of leaking classified information and referenced the DOJ’s criminal investigation into the disclosure of intelligence related to Tren de Aragua. Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche condemned the leak as politically motivated and emphasized the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards such actions.
