Donald Trump has issued a warning to Apple, threatening a 25% tariff on iPhones unless the company relocates its production to the United States. This move has intensified the conflict between Trump and Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook.

Tim Cook recently announced that the majority of iPhones sold in the US will be supplied by Indian factories in an effort to circumvent the tariffs imposed on Chinese goods by Trump.

In a post on Truth Social, President Trump stated, “I have made it clear to Tim Cook that I expect iPhones sold in the US to be manufactured in the United States, not in India or any other location. If this is not the case, Apple will be subject to a tariff of at least 25%.”

Reports from the Financial Times reveal that Apple is planning to source all iPhones sold in the US from India by the end of next year. Foxconn, a major Apple supplier, is investing $1.5 billion to expand iPhone production in India.

Following this announcement, Apple’s shares experienced a 3% decline in pre-market trading.

Apple has yet to respond to this development.
