Fossil fuel advocate Alex Epstein delivered a powerful presentation to nearly all Senate Republicans on Wednesday, stressing the need to eliminate the “toxic subsidies” for the green energy industry outlined in the Inflation Reduction Act. Epstein emphasized that these subsidies, amounting to billions of dollars, must be terminated for the benefit of the economy and grid reliability.

In a post on X, Epstein shared his discussion with the Senators, highlighting his stance on the harmful nature of the subsidies and the urgency of their termination. Senator Mike Lee praised Epstein’s insights and contributions to the conversation.

Epstein’s presentation, titled “How the Senate can save hundreds of billions of dollars—and our grid—by truly terminating IRA subsidies,” offered lawmakers a detailed plan to save up to $1 trillion by ending green energy subsidies and closing loopholes.

The key points of the presentation included the detrimental effects of the current subsidies on the grid, energy costs, and national debt. Epstein emphasized the importance of strict eligibility deadlines to truly terminate the subsidies and prevent further financial losses.

The Senate hearing on the misuse of taxpayer funds through the IRA highlighted the need to defund the climate-industrial complex that exploited the climate crisis narrative for financial gain.

By terminating IRA subsidies, the government can prevent further wasteful spending and redirect resources towards more sustainable and efficient energy solutions.
