Today marks the first general election of Trump’s second term, with all eyes on the mayoral race in New York City between Zohran Mamdani and Andrew Cuomo. Mamdani has promised to fund his ambitious plans by taxing the wealthy, while Cuomo has gained support as the lesser evil candidate, endorsed by President Trump and Elon Musk.

The Epoch Times highlights the significance of the mayoral election in New York, where Mamdani has been leading the polls since his primary victory on June 24.

A recent Fox News poll shows Mamdani with a 16-point lead over Cuomo, with Mamdani at 47% and Cuomo at 31%. The RealClearPolitics polling average gives Mamdani a 14.3-point advantage.

In Virginia, voters will decide between Republican Winsome Earle-Sears and Democrat Abigail Spanberger for governor. The attorney general race features Republican Jason Miyares against Democrat Jay Jones, who faced controversy for his comments.

New Jersey voters will choose between Democrat Mikie Sherrill and Republican Jack Ciattarelli, with Sherrill leading in the polls but facing a narrowing gap.

Pennsylvania voters will cast ballots for the state Supreme Court, while Californians will vote on Proposition 50, a measure to redraw congressional maps in favor of Democrats.
