Noem Says US Travel Ban To Expand To Over 30 Countries

Authored by Aldgra Fredly via The Epoch Times,

Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced on December 4 that the Trump administration is planning to extend the U.S. travel ban to include more than 30 countries.

The current U.S. travel restrictions affect nationals from 19 countries, including Afghanistan, Haiti, Iran, Cuba, Somalia, Libya, Laos, Burma (Myanmar), and Sudan. Noem stated that more countries will be added to the list, without specifying which ones.

“I won’t be specific on the number, but it’s over 30, and the president is continuing to evaluate countries,” she said in an interview on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle” aired on December 4.

“If they don’t have a stable government or the ability to vet individuals, why should we allow people from those countries to enter the United States?”

Noem criticized the Biden administration for the backlog in asylum cases, which she said has surpassed a million. She mentioned that credible applicants were being delayed due to the lack of proper vetting procedures.

Noem called for a full travel ban on countries that she believes are sending criminals and welfare dependents to the U.S. after a meeting with President Donald Trump.

“Our forefathers built this nation on blood, sweat, and the unyielding love of freedom—not for foreign invaders to slaughter our heroes, drain our tax dollars, or take benefits meant for Americans. We do not want them here,” she stated.

Trump has expressed his intention to pause immigration from third-world countries to allow the U.S. system to recover fully. He emphasized the need to suspend federal benefits to noncitizens, denaturalize immigrants who disrupt domestic peace, and deport individuals deemed incompatible with Western civilization.
