New Avelo Airlines Credit Card Features Decent Rewards, Poor Perks

Avelo Airlines, a budget airline known for its flights within the eastern United States, has teamed up with Cardless and First Electronic Bank to introduce a new co-branded credit card. The application process for this card officially began on January 27, 2026.

The Avelo Airlines World Elite Mastercard comes with a $99 annual fee and offers 5% back in Avelo Cash on Avelo purchases and 2% in Avelo Cash on all other purchases. Avelo Cash can be redeemed for future flights and additional flight amenities such as seat selection fees.

Unlike many other mid-tier airline credit cards, the Avelo card does not charge foreign transaction fees or penalty APR. However, it may lack some of the perks typically associated with cards in its price range, such as free checked bags and in-flight discounts. The primary benefit of the Avelo card is a complimentary carry-on bag.

The welcome offer for new Avelo cardholders is relatively modest, with the opportunity to earn 25,000 points (equivalent to $250 in Avelo Cash) after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 90 days of account opening.

In comparison, the Southwest Rapid Rewards® Plus Credit Card, also with a $99 annual fee, offers a more substantial welcome bonus of 50,000 bonus points after spending $1,000 on purchases within the first 3 months of account opening. BW values Southwest points at 1.3 cents each, making the Southwest offer potentially worth around $650.
