The latest class of startups from REACH Commercial is set to revolutionize the way commercial brokerages operate in the industry. These seven startups offer a range of solutions, from green building resources to small business engines that empower entrepreneurs to own their real estate.

Innovation is at the core of Inman’s DNA, which is why we are thrilled to announce August as Technology and Innovation Month. We will kick off the month by honoring the companies and individuals driving the industry forward with an expanded selection of Inman Innovator Awards at Inman Connect Las Vegas. Throughout the month, we will continue to celebrate the brightest minds in the real estate industry.

Second Century Ventures, the National Association of Realtors’ business investment arm, has unveiled its latest commercial cohort for the REACH Commercial program. These seven startups are poised to transform the commercial brokerage landscape with innovative solutions that address key industry challenges. With over $150 million in funding collectively, these companies will receive additional support from Second Century Ventures in the form of business intelligence, education, leadership insights, and go-to-market assistance.

Bob Gillespie, managing partner of REACH Commercial, expressed excitement about the potential impact of this year’s cohort, stating, “They are tackling significant challenges in our rapidly evolving field with innovative solutions that focus on reducing carbon emissions, harnessing artificial intelligence and big data, and creating better fintech solutions for real estate transactions. We are thrilled about the prospects of this exceptional group and their potential for significant growth.”

The cohort includes companies like Acres, a geospatial land research platform, Infinityy, an AI lead-generation and market experiences solution, Incentifind for green building incentives, and Premise HQ, which automates complex data management for commercial and industrial properties.

Other members of the cohort include Prophia, which uses AI to optimize building operations for investors and operators, Rensiar, the world’s first certified air quality ecosystem, and Withco, a platform that helps community business leaders become property owners for long-term profitability and expense control.

Dave Garland, managing partner of Second Century Ventures, emphasized the cohort’s focus on driving innovation, stating, “By investing in and supporting these forward-thinking businesses, we ensure that commercial real estate professionals have access to the latest technologies, empowering them to enhance operations, make informed decisions, and deliver value to their clients.”

Since its inception in 2013, the REACH program has been instrumental in supporting over 200 companies dedicated to improving the real estate industry’s interactions with stakeholders. Some notable alumni include Notarize, Inman Innovator Award Winners Courted and Inspectify, Zillow-acquired Areyo, HighNote, and Rental Beast.

According to JP Morgan‘s mid-year outlook on the commercial sector, multifamily, retail, and industrial properties are driving the market, while high interest rates are impacting liquidity strategies. Office occupancy rates remain low nationwide, highlighting the challenges faced by the commercial real estate sector.
