American Airlines Unveils Its Most Premium Plane Ever

American Airlines is targeting high-spending customers with its newly reconfigured Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, designed for popular international routes. The plane boasts 70 business class suites and 44 premium economy recliners, making it the most premium-focused commercial jet among U.S. airlines. However, this increased focus on business and premium economy seating means that American will gradually phase out its international first class offerings in the coming months.

The new Boeing 777-300ER took its inaugural flight on September 2, 2026, from New York (JFK) to Buenos Aires (EZE) and will primarily operate between Dallas and London. While only one aircraft has been retrofitted with the new seating so far, American plans to upgrade its entire Boeing 777-300ER fleet of 20 aircraft next year.

The aircraft features 330 seats, including 70 Flagship Suite business class seats with privacy doors, 44 premium economy recliners, 30 Main Cabin Extra (extra legroom) seats, and 186 Main Cabin standard seats. Additionally, the plane offers free high-speed Wi-Fi for AAdvantage members flying to destinations like London, Tokyo, Sao Paulo, Buenos Aires, and Sydney.

American Airlines will no longer offer Flagship First on flights operated by the Boeing 777-300ER starting November 19, 2026. This move makes American the final U.S. airline to eliminate international first class in favor of more business class seats, potentially increasing award flight availability in business class for travelers with points and miles.

Passengers ticketed in business class on planes that still have Flagship First seats will be able to select one of these seats at no extra charge once American stops selling Flagship First. However, these passengers will receive the standard business class amenity kit and meal, rather than the upgraded amenities typically offered in first class.

Of the 70 Flagship Suites onboard, eight are designated as “Flagship Suite Preferred,” offering extra space at the front of the business class cabins. Passengers can select these seats without paying an additional fee. All the suites come with sliding privacy doors, and the seats are angled away from the aisle, providing passengers with either a window or middle seat orientation. The seats in the middle feature a sliding privacy divider for added comfort. sentence: “I am going to the store to buy some groceries.”

Rewritten sentence: “I will be heading to the store to purchase groceries.”
