Aurora Intents Lets Users Enter Sui Apps From Other Chains in One Signature

Cross-chain transactions typically conclude upon the arrival of assets. However, Aurora Labs aims to redefine this by ensuring transactions end only when users have successfully completed their intended actions.

Aurora Intents has recently integrated Sui as a destination for Intents Connect, enabling users to seamlessly transfer supported assets from various blockchains directly into activities such as lending, staking, trading, or yield strategies on Sui. This entire process can be completed with just one signature, eliminating the need for manual asset bridging, wallet switching, or acquiring $SUI for gas fees.

Powered by NEAR Intents, the system offers a robust network for solving, liquidity provision, settlement, and chain connectivity. At present, Aurora Intents supports over 30 different chains.

With substantial capital already deployed on Sui, Aurora’s primary focus lies in leveraging capital from other networks to enhance Sui applications without requiring users to navigate complex infrastructure.

Transitioning from Solana’s $USDC to a Sui Position

An easy way to grasp the impact of these developments is by considering a user transitioning from Solana.

Previously, a user holding $USDC on Solana looking to deposit it into a Sui protocol would have had to navigate various chains, use a different wallet, and acquire $SUI for transaction fees.

By integrating Intents Connect into the Sui application, Aurora simplifies the process by allowing users to authorize transactions with just one signature within the existing application.

What sets Intents Connect apart is its ability to not only transfer funds to Sui but also execute the desired action, such as depositing into a lending protocol or yield strategy. This multi-step execution layer combines cross-chain routing, conversion, and DeFi actions seamlessly.

Aurora Labs emphasizes that for a majority of applications they work with, delivering funds is only the beginning, as users often seek to stake, lend, or trade once the assets are in place.

Why Integrating Sui Was a Significant Milestone

Integrating Sui posed a unique technical challenge due to its distinct architecture compared to Ethereum-compatible chains. It marks Aurora Intents’ second integration with a non-Ethereum-style blockchain, following Solana.

“We chose Sui because the technical challenge is crucial for the significance of this integration,” stated Declan Hannon, CEO of Aurora Labs.

“Sui’s programming model, address format, and transaction assembly process differ significantly from Ethereum-style chains. By supporting Sui as a destination, Intents Connect streamlines the user experience while providing developers access to existing capital from other chains.”

For Sui developers, this integration opens up their applications to a broader user base and liquidity from supported chains without requiring users to navigate complex infrastructure.

Users can now enter with assets from another chain and exit with a completed position on Sui, all while the cross-chain routing operates seamlessly in the background.

Support for Sui on Intents Connect is now live.
