Chase Freedom Unlimited Unveils $250 Sign-up Bonu

New cardholders who have recently been approved for the Chase Freedom Unlimited® can now enjoy a bonus that offers instant gratification without the need for significant spending.

Effective March 20, 2025, the Chase Freedom Unlimited® is enticing new cardholders with the following bonus: Limited Time Intro Offer: Earn a $250 Bonus after you spend $500 on purchases in your first 3 months from account opening.

How this bonus differs from what was available before:

  • This bonus is larger than the previous offer found on Chase’s website. Previously, applicants could earn $200 after spending $500 on purchases in the first 3 months from account opening.

  • It requires less spending compared to the previous offer available on BW and other platforms. The previous offer provided an additional 1.5% cash back on all purchases in the first year, up to $20,000 in spending, potentially totaling $300 if fully utilized.

While the new bonus is $50 less than the maximum of $300 achievable with the extra 1.5% offer, it eliminates the need to wait a whole year to earn the bonus and requires significantly less spending. With just $500 in spending, you can receive the $250 bonus, as opposed to the $16,667 spending requirement to earn $250 with an extra 1.5%. Additionally, compared to the previous Chase offer, it offers $50 more for the same spending amount.

Regardless, for a card with no annual fee, this bonus presents a great opportunity to offset costs or increase flexibility in your budget.

The card also continues to provide 5% back on travel booked through Chase, 3% back at restaurants (including takeout and eligible delivery services), 3% back on drugstore purchases, and 1.5% cash back on all other purchases. In addition to the sign-up bonus, it offers an introductory APR deal: Enjoy a 0% intro APR on purchases and Balance Transfers for 15 months, followed by an ongoing APR of 18.99%-28.49% Variable APR.
