GT Price Tests Long-Term Support as Gate Layer Gains Momentum

The Gate Token (GT) price has exemplified the impact of momentum aligning with the 200-day EMA. In 2024, GT soared from $3.60 to $25.92 by early 2025, marking a remarkable 600% surge. However, by the first half of 2026, selling pressure pushed the price below $7.

Returning to the present, GT’s current price hovers around $6.75, resting on a trendline support established since 2021. The historical trend indicates that this support becomes more potent when GT can reclaim and maintain a position above the 200-day EMA, currently at $7.75. While the chart doesn’t signal a strong bullish trend yet, it is approaching a critical juncture where a catalyst could make a difference.

In August, active addresses spiked, indicating growing user interest and network activity beyond the price chart. If this trend continues alongside GT’s proximity to long-term support, traders may have a stronger incentive to monitor whether demand can propel the token back above the 200-day EMA.

Furthermore, the introduction of Gate Layer, an Optimistic Rollup on Gate Chain L1, brings potential catalysts for GT. With features like off-chain execution for speed and efficiency, as well as EIP-4844 blobs to lower transaction costs, Gate Layer is designed for dApps and high-throughput blockchain use cases. While the impact of this development remains uncertain, a sustained breakthrough above the $7.75 level near the 200-day EMA could reignite GT’s historical rally to $25.92.

As GT teeters on long-term support, the convergence of technical indicators and network developments suggests a pivotal moment for the token’s future trajectory.
