As President Trump embarks on his second term, the American public is divided on what the future holds. Some see it as a new golden age, while others fear a potential catastrophe. This polarization of opinions extends globally, reflecting the significant impact the U.S. has on the world stage.

The U.S. economy and geopolitical influence mean that any policy changes can have far-reaching consequences beyond its borders. The chart below, created by Statista and Visual Capitalist, illustrates the varying opinions on Trump’s presidency and its impact on different countries.

Love and Hate

The data, gathered from a survey of 28,549 people by the European Council on Foreign Relations (ECFR) across 24 countries, reveals stark differences in perception. For example, India sees Trump’s presidency as overwhelmingly positive, with 84% of respondents expressing this view.

Conversely, South Korea has a much more negative outlook, with only 11% believing Trump will benefit their country. Interestingly, a significant portion of Koreans (67%) are unsure of the impact he will have.

The Data by Country

As President Trump’s second term progresses, the international community will closely monitor his administration’s actions, particularly in light of potential ripple effects from policies like tariffs. It is crucial for countries around the world to stay informed and prepared for any repercussions.

For more insights, you can explore a visualization from Voronoi, Visual Capitalist’s new app, detailing the presence of billionaire wealth at Trump’s inauguration and the net worth of attendees.
