The Orlando International Airport (MCO) Guide

Orlando International Airport (MCO) in Florida is a popular transit hub for leisure travelers in the U.S. If you’re planning a trip to Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, or other attractions in Orlando, or if you’re embarking on a cruise from Port Canaveral, chances are you’ll be flying into MCO.

As a devoted Disney fan and recent convert to Universal Orlando and cruising, I’ve traveled through MCO numerous times. Over the years, I’ve witnessed significant changes at the airport. In 2022, Terminal C was unveiled, offering a completely new airport experience with impressive architecture and a slightly distant location from the main terminal. In 2023, MCO introduced its Brightline station, connecting the airport to Miami and other destinations in Florida via rail.

MCO is a massive airport that can sometimes feel more crowded and hectic than even Orlando’s busiest theme parks. Here’s a breakdown of what you need to know about the airport:

  • Location: 1 Jeff Fuqua Blvd, Orlando, FL 32827 (Terminals A and B) and 10200 Jeff Fuqua Blvd South (Terminal C).
  • Annual Passengers: Approximately 57 million.
  • Passenger Airlines: The airport serves 38 passenger airlines, with the largest ones being Southwest Airlines, Delta Air Lines, Spirit Airlines, Frontier Airlines, and American Airlines.
  • Airport Code: MCO (originally McCoy Air Force Base).

For more details, including maps of the terminals, transportation options like driving, rideshares, and shuttles, and information on security procedures and airport lounges, continue reading the full article.
