Trump-Backed WLFI Sells Tokens to Hut8 Ahead of Major Crypto Expansion

World Liberty Financial (WLFI), the crypto venture backed by the Trump family, is gaining significant attention in the news recently. WLFI is looking to revolutionize the financial landscape by introducing tokenized assets, a stablecoin, and innovative financial products that bridge the gap between traditional finance and crypto. A recent token sale has attracted institutional investors, showcasing the growing interest in the project.

One notable development is the acquisition of WLFI tokens by crypto mining giant Hut8 at a premium price of $0.25 each. The tokens were obtained directly from WLFI’s treasury reserves, with no new issuance, ensuring that the circulating supply remains unaffected. WLFI confirmed the transaction, expressing gratitude for Hut8’s long-term support.

The decision by Hut8 to pay above market price for WLFI tokens is seen as a testament to institutional trust in the project. It is reported that Hut8 intends to hold the tokens as part of its long-term reserve, reflecting confidence in WLFI’s future prospects. This move has drawn comparisons to the early days of Bitcoin and Ethereum, where accumulation behind the scenes led to significant supply shocks later on.

In addition to the token sale, WLFI is exploring the tokenization of real-world assets, with plans to put the Trump family’s real estate portfolio on the blockchain. CEO Zach Witkoff envisions making iconic properties like Trump Tower Dubai accessible to investors through tokenized shares, highlighting the family’s portfolio as one of the most exciting in the world.

Furthermore, WLFI is actively working on tokenizing commodities like oil and gas, aiming to make them tradable on-chain using its USD1 stablecoin as the base. The team is also gearing up to launch a debit card that will facilitate the use of crypto assets for everyday spending, with a pilot program set to begin next quarter.

These developments position WLFI as a versatile player in the financial industry, bridging traditional finance, decentralized finance (DeFi), and real-world assets. With a focus on innovation and growth, WLFI is poised to make a significant impact in the evolving crypto landscape.
