If you’re an existing Altitude Reserve cardholder, you’re in luck! You won’t be forced to switch to another U.S. Bank credit card, and you can continue using your Reserve card with all its perks and benefits intact. This includes the ongoing rewards program:

  • Earn 5 points per $1 spent on prepaid hotels and car rentals booked directly in the Altitude Rewards Center.

  • Get 3 points per $1 spent on eligible travel and mobile wallet purchases.

  • Receive 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.

BW rating

BW’s ratings are determined by our editorial team. The scoring formula incorporates coverage options, customer experience, customizability, cost and more.

Launched in 2017, the U.S. Bank Altitude™ Reserve Visa Infinite® Card was designed to compete with luxury travel cards like the Chase Sapphire Reserve® and The Platinum Card® from American Express. While it comes with a hefty annual fee of $400, the card offers valuable perks such as an annual $325 travel credit.

With the Altitude Reserve no longer accepting new customers, the U.S. Bank Altitude® Connect Visa Signature® Card becomes the primary travel credit card option. This card recently underwent some significant changes, including a drop in annual fee from $95 to $0. However, point redemption values decreased for certain options, and the cell phone insurance benefit was removed.

As the Altitude Reserve exits the market, U.S. Bank introduces the U.S. Bank Smartly™ Visa Signature® Card. With a $0 annual fee, this card offers up to 4% cash back on all purchases — but maintaining a certain balance in U.S. Bank accounts is required.
