Fresh US Military Strikes in Iran Following Drone Intercepts in Hormuz Region

Reports have emerged of new military strikes by the US in Iran, prompted by Iranian drones being intercepted in the Strait of Hormuz area. The strikes targeted an Iranian military site believed to pose a threat to American forces and commercial shipping in the region.

President Trump has reiterated his stance on negotiations with Iran, emphasizing that sanctions relief will not be granted unless Iran agrees to give up its enriched uranium. He described Iran as negotiating from a position of weakness during a recent cabinet meeting.

The White House has dismissed Iranian state media reports regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) as a “complete fabrication.” The US continues to maintain a tough stance on Iran, with the Pentagon acknowledging Tehran’s efforts to increase pressure on the US amid ongoing negotiations.

Despite the escalating tensions, there are cautious hopes for a potential peace deal between the US and Iran by June 30, 2026. However, Iranian officials have made it clear that enriched uranium is not up for negotiation, emphasizing the economic battleground as the main focus of the conflict.

In a show of resilience, Iranian authorities have reopened Tabriz International Airport in northwestern Iran, which was heavily damaged during previous airstrikes. The restoration of this critical infrastructure marks the reopening of the 20th airport across the country, showcasing Iran’s determination to overcome challenges posed by the conflict.
