Authored by Victor Davis Hanson via DailySignal.com,

As we reflect on the first 100 days of the Trump administration, let’s take a moment to examine the opposition it has faced.

There are essentially three main sources of opposition:

  1. pollsters,

  2. the media,

  3. and the Democratic Party and the institutionalized Left.

The pollsters are currently showing President Donald Trump trailing by four or five points. However, a closer look at polls like Rasmussen or Mark Penn’s, a Democratic centrist, reveals a much closer race. Furthermore, polls from outlets like The New York Times have been criticized for under-representing Trump supporters.

The media has also played a significant role in opposing Trump, often at odds with the Democratic Left over issues like Joe Biden’s cognitive abilities. There has been a lack of critical reporting on Biden by the media, leading to questions about their impartiality.

As for the Democratic Party and the Left, they find themselves lacking a cohesive alternative agenda to Trump’s policies. With no institutional power or clear leadership, they struggle to present a unified front against the administration.

Ultimately, the opposition to Trump seems to be driven more by fear of his potential success rather than genuine concern over his policies.
