The ongoing clashes between Pakistan and Afghanistan have escalated to the point where the Taliban-ruled capital of Kabul is now at risk. After intense fighting, a temporary ceasefire has been established following Pakistan’s drone strikes on Kabul and the border province of Paktika. The conflict has resulted in numerous casualties on both sides, with many people fleeing their homes in fear of further violence.

Unverified footage shows smoke rising in Kabul, indicating the intensity of the conflict. The situation has prompted concerns from the United Nations and calls for all parties to respect international law and protect civilians.

Pakistan has justified its actions as necessary for counter-terrorism operations, citing evidence of Afghanistan being used as a base for terrorist activities against Pakistan. The Taliban, lacking a real air force or anti-air defenses, has been unable to prevent Pakistani airstrikes on its positions along the border.

Despite the ceasefire agreement, tensions remain high as both sides navigate a fragile truce. The international community, including the UN, continues to monitor the situation closely to prevent further escalation of violence.
