On Monday, all eyes were on Wedbush analyst Dan Ives, who raised concerns about a “code red” situation at Tesla if Elon Musk continued focusing on DOGE-related activities in Washington. This warning led to a 7% drop in Tesla shares by late afternoon. However, a ray of hope appeared around midday when aerial images revealed possible Cybercab prototype builds underway near the Tesla Giga Texas facility.
Certified flight instructor Joe Tegtmeyer captured high-resolution images showing new castings next to the Giga Texas Casting Machine section. These castings did not resemble those of the Model Y or Cybertruck, sparking curiosity among experts in the field.
Additionally, Tegtmeyer observed more Giga Press parts being delivered, hinting at further developments at the site. Tesla investor Sawyer Merritt confirmed that the castings could be for the rear Cybercab, as opposed to the Cybertruck, based on the markings seen in the images.
Merritt also highlighted Tesla’s ongoing installation of Cybercab production equipment, with plans for prototype builds to commence this summer and mass production scheduled for early 2026. Despite the negative market response to Musk’s distractions, these new findings point towards exciting progress in Tesla’s production line.
As we eagerly await Tuesday’s earnings call, it remains to be seen if analysts will delve into these intriguing aerial images and their implications for Tesla’s future endeavors.
