Authored by Dave DeCamp via AntiWar.com,

The American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) is criticizing Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) for being the first Republican in Congress to describe Israel’s actions in Gaza as genocide.

According to Al Jazeera, AIPAC condemned Greene’s comments as “disgusting” and accused her of betraying “American values” for using the term genocide to describe Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, aligning her with various human rights organizations and genocide scholars, including Israeli ones.

In a fundraising email to supporters, AIPAC stated, “You expect anti-Israel smears from Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar, but now, Marjorie Taylor Greene has joined their ranks – spouting the same vile rhetoric and voting against the US-Israel alliance.”

AIPAC labeled Greene as the “newest member of the anti-Israel Squad” and claimed her viewpoint was a “betrayal of American values and a dangerous distortion of the truth.”

Greene has used the term genocide in reference to Israel’s actions in Gaza on multiple occasions, also highlighting Israel’s nuclear arsenal, a topic rarely discussed in Congress.

AIPAC, known for supporting pro-Israel candidates, may back an opponent of Greene in future elections.

AIPAC is sending fundraising emails attacking me for saying, “the most truthful and easiest thing to say that Oct 7th in Israel was horrific and all hostages must be returned, but so is the genocide, humanitarian crisis, and starvation happening in Gaza.”

Additionally, AIPAC has targeted Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY), another Republican in Congress critical of Israel’s actions and consistently voting against aid to Israel.
