Australia stocks higher at close of trade; S&P/ASX 200 up 0.45%

Australia stocks saw gains on Thursday, with the and sectors leading the way.

The Sydney Stock Exchange closed higher, with the reaching a new all-time high, up by 0.45%.

Top performers included Pro Medicus Ltd, which surged by 9.05%, Omni Bridgeway Ltd, up by 6.40%, and Resolute Mining Ltd, rising by 4.43%.

On the other hand, Harvey Norman Holdings Ltd, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Ltd, and Austal Ltd were among the session’s worst performers.

During the session, rising stocks outnumbered declining ones, with 586 stocks gaining, 473 falling, and 422 remaining unchanged.

Pro Medicus Ltd also reached all-time highs, climbing by 9.05%.

The S&P/ASX 200 options implied volatility index decreased by 2.49%.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures and Crude oil prices saw slight declines.

Currency exchange rates remained relatively stable, with the AUD/USD unchanged at 0.65 and AUD/JPY rising to 98.33.

The US Dollar Index Futures increased by 0.11%.
