The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has escalated its conflict with Phoenix Realtors (PAR) by initiating the charter revocation process against PAR over the MLS Choice program. In response, PAR has indicated that they will not withdraw or end the program.
The MLS Choice membership option allows real estate licensees to join PAR and access the local MLS without needing to become members of the Arizona Association of Realtors or NAR.
PAR’s website states that through MLS Choice, brokers who are PAR members can provide their agents with access to the MLS, legal forms, and other benefits outside of the traditional three-tier membership system.
After receiving a cease-and-desist letter from NAR requesting the program’s termination, PAR has defended MLS Choice as a valuable subscription option for real estate professionals to assess their specific needs for success.
PAR CEO and President Andrea Aker criticized NAR’s decision, stating that it hampers innovation and fails to support the industry’s evolution. Despite this, PAR remains committed to providing subscription options like MLS Choice and supporting the professionals they serve.
