Finally, someone has spoken the truth. Trump has bluntly stated what many have been thinking—Zelensky is the emperor with no clothes. In fact, he’s the dictator with no clothes, propped up by Western elites who turned a blind eye to the reality. But the facade has been shattered. Trump not only called him a dictator, but also excluded him from peace talks and made it clear that if Zelensky wants to be taken seriously, he must hold elections, abandon his confrontational stance, and start acting like a statesman rather than a spoiled client.
For years, Zelensky was treated as untouchable by Western elites and their media allies—criticizing him was almost sacrilegious. The hero-worship didn’t start in 2022 when the war broke out. It began in 2019 when Zelensky became the focal point of Trump’s first impeachment, portrayed as the sympathetic leader whom Trump allegedly tried to pressure. It was all a fabrication, yet it didn’t matter. The media and political establishment needed him propped up, so they did—protecting him from scrutiny no matter how absurd his actions became.
The arrogance and defiance shown by Zelensky didn’t appear out of nowhere—it was simply the latest episode in a long history of entitled recklessness that had defined Ukraine’s political elite even before he assumed office. To truly understand it, we must go back to 2016 when Ukrainian officials blatantly interfered in the U.S. election, attacking Trump in a manner that was not only unprecedented but completely outside the norms of international relations.
When Trump emerged victorious in 2016, he chose to overlook Ukraine’s interference. He sought peace, but his efforts were hampered by the Russia collusion hoax, which essentially criminalized any diplomacy with Moscow. Anytime he tried to make progress, he was met with vehement opposition from the media, the establishment, and Democrats.
Wounded by the impeachment scandal, Trump’s hands were tied, and then Biden entered the picture. With Biden, Zelensky got everything he desired—billions in weapons and reckless escalations that led to war.
While we were previously told that NATO membership was unrelated to the outbreak of the 2022 conflict, even the NATO chief now acknowledges that NATO expansion played a crucial role in Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Biden and his team had essentially promised Ukraine NATO entry in the lead-up to the war. Despite the reckless escalation of tensions by Biden and his team, Zelensky remained oblivious to the risks, convinced that the West’s support would never falter.
When a real opportunity for peace presented itself early in the conflict, Zelensky failed to seize it. Instead, he allowed Ukraine to be led astray by Western hawks and domestic opportunists, plunging the country deeper into a war that could have been avoided.
Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder disclosed that he had been mediating the Istanbul peace talks in April 2022. Ukraine and Russia had nearly reached an agreement—until Johnson and Biden intervened and instructed Zelensky to walk away.
He followed orders, opting for war instead of peace at the behest of those with their own hidden agendas, which did not prioritize the lives of hundreds of thousands of Ukrainians.
Even as public support dwindled and the global political landscape shifted, Zelensky refused to change course, believing that the flow of money, weapons, and political support would never cease.
In September 2024, Zelensky visited the United States and campaigned for Kamala Harris in Pennsylvania, seemingly oblivious to the possibility of her defeat. During his time in the US, he also gave an interview to The New Yorker, where he openly criticized Trump and JD Vance. Dismissing Trump’s ability to end the war, he stated, “My feeling is that Trump doesn’t really know how to stop the war, even if he might think he knows how.” He also belittled Vance, calling him “too radical” and suggesting that he needed education from Jewish Americans, whom he referred to as a powerful group in the US.
These remarks do not reflect the qualities of a leader capable of navigating peace negotiations, adapting to changing political circumstances, or showing gratitude to the American taxpayers who funded the war effort. Instead of adjusting his approach, Zelensky remained arrogant, unaware that those he mocked could soon hold significant influence.
Despite numerous errors, lack of political acumen, and consistently backing the losing side, Zelensky continued to receive second chances.
Following Trump’s inauguration, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent visited Kiev to discuss financial matters. Zelensky’s response was more arrogance, as he refused to agree to a repayment plan for America’s substantial investments in Ukraine. US taxpayers not only funded the war but also supported Ukraine’s media, pensions, and civil service. Their contributions went beyond weapons to sustaining the entire state.
Zelensky missed another opportunity to reset when he met Vance in Munich recently, displaying no humility or willingness to change his approach.
It is likely that Trump and Vance concluded that a peace agreement was unattainable as long as Zelensky remained in power. In response, Zelensky lashed out, dismissing Trump’s claims and further diminishing his own relevance.
For years, Zelensky acted like a privileged child enabled by lenient caregivers. Under Biden, he faced no limits, and his tantrums went unchecked. With Trump’s arrival, Zelensky failed to adapt, leading to a shift in dynamics.
Trump publicly labeled Zelensky a dictator on Truth Social, sparking outrage among the media, Democrats, and European elites. The truth, long concealed, is now exposed. Zelensky, who claimed to uphold democracy, suppressed opposition, silenced the media, and canceled elections, revealing his true authoritarian nature. Unless Zelensky undergoes a drastic transformation, the war will conclude without him. The era of his charade is over, and the show is coming to an end.
