Global air travel saw a steady increase in 2024, with worldwide demand growing by 7.1% year-on-year as the aviation sector continues to rebound post-pandemic.

With the rise in passenger numbers, punctuality has become a crucial factor, setting top airlines apart from the competition.

The infographic, created by Kayla Zhu at Visual Capitalist, showcases the top 10 airlines with the highest on-time arrival rates in 2024 along with their total number of flights. The data is sourced from Cirium.

Which Airline was the Most Punctual in 2024?

Here are the top 10 airlines with the highest on-time arrival rates in 2024 and their total number of flights:

Aeroméxico led the list with an impressive on-time arrival rate of 86.7%, followed closely by Saudia from Saudi Arabia at 86.4%.

Delta Air Lines, a major global carrier, maintained a strong on-time performance of 83.5% despite operating over 1.7 million flights, one of the highest in Cirium’s rankings. The airline was also recognized as America’s most reliable airline in the first quarter of 2024.

United Airlines, the world’s largest airline in terms of revenue passenger miles, achieved an 80.9% on-time arrival rate.

However, United Airlines was the only U.S. carrier that experienced a decline in its American Customer Satisfaction Index rating in 2024 due to various safety incidents.
