Ethereum (ETH) co-creator Vitalik Buterin has recently started selling off a number of digital assets, including Neiro (NEIRO) and other memecoins.
Arkham Intelligence, a market analytics platform, reports that Buterin has offloaded Dogecoin (DOGE) and several other lesser-known digital assets on Monday.
EmberCN, an on-chain analyst, has shared a list of Buterin’s sales on X, revealing that he sold 28 memecoins for a total of nearly $1 million. Among the sales were 70 million Neiro for $74,095 and 92,000 DOGE for $35,233.
It seems that Buterin is consolidating his assets to make donations to his charity, Kanro, which focuses on biotech initiatives related to COVID-19 and other pandemics.
According to EmberCN, “[Buterin] is regularly selling memecoins donated to his wallet: “[On Monday], he sold a total of 28 memecoins for 984,000 USDC, and then donated the USDC to the Kanro address… Some tokens have experienced significant drops in value due to their small market cap and poor liquidity. For example, DINU decreased by 68% and SHIB by 38%.”
This isn’t the first time Buterin has sold digital assets to support Kanro. In October, he reportedly sold around $340,000 worth of meme coins in just thirty minutes.
